Group Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
Underwritten By New York Life Insurance Company
It’s Easy. And Smart.
According to the Center for Disease Control, accidents are the third leading cause of death in the U.S.§ As a medical professional, you understand the trauma families experience when a family suffers loss of life or limb in an accident.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance is a budget-friendly option to help protect you and your family from financial hardship after a serious accident, which other types of insurance may not cover. For only a few dollars a month, you can get thousands of dollars in added coverage on top of any life insurance coverage you have. If you’ve been denied for life insurance, AD&D may be a good alternative.

How long can I keep this coverage?
Unlike employer-based coverage, this insurance is portable--which means that if you change jobs, your coverage does not terminate. Access to this insurance is through your AAP membership. Just maintain your membership to keep your coverage until age 70, provided you make timely premium payments.
Does Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance replace life insurance?
No, AD&D insurance should not be a replacement for a good life insurance policy. AD&D Insurance is good to have in your insurance portfolio for added protection. To protect yourself in other circumstances, such as natural illness, you should maintain life insurance. If you’ve been denied for life insurance or you’re unable to afford it at this time, AD&D may be a good idea to purchase because it can provide some financial protection in case of accident.
What is a covered accident under an Accidental Death & Dismemberment policy?
If you are involved in an accident that results in a loss of life, a loss of two or more limbs, or a loss of speech and hearing, you could receive full or a portion of your benefit as noted in the downloadable brochure. Natural sickness, diseases not related to an injury, or injuries resulting from medical/surgical treatments are some exclusions on the AD&D policy. The full list of exclusions can be found in the downloadable brochure to the right.
